Hi, I’m Will Whitman.
I am the owner of Whitman, LLC. I help business owners, managers, and individuals solve their business and legal problems so they can get back to doing what matters most to them.
Three things distinguish me from many other lawyers: (1) my business mindset, (2) my creative, entrepreneurial spirit, and (3) my focus on providing value. I value long-term relationships, working together with clients, and learning from each other.
As Chief Legal Officer and Director of Operations at RL Corporation, parent company of Peopleflex, a staffing and recruiting firm, and AC Lordi, a consulting firm, I helped manage the firm as it scaled from one Pennsylvania office to ten locations nationally. I have worked with business owners for most of my career. As an entrepreneur myself, I understand that to be successful, you must take risks. My role is often to identify the specific risks in a given situation, and find ways to manage or mitigate them, and help clients make better decisions.
I began my legal career at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. I left the Court to work at a renowned boutique complex commercial litigation firm in Philadelphia. I earned a rare opportunity to work in-house at a client, where I enjoyed working with others to build something. I went back to graduate business school and earned a Masters in Management. Since that time, I served as general counsel for several private companies, before returning to private practice on my own.
As a Pennsylvania business lawyer and trusted adviser, I have advised senior executives on strategy, leadership, management, operations, risk management, and legal matters, and helped businesses of all sizes with their legal needs. Interventions have included back-office setup and oversight for foreign corporations doing business in the U.S.; contract management system development; drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts of all kinds; employment matters; financing transactions; human resources support; investigations; joint ventures; law department management; litigation; mergers and acquisitions; and wage and compensation compliance.
